AD: VALENTINES DAY GUIDE FOR THE UNPREPARED

Dude I know what you're thinking. It's Valentines day in a week?!
Don't worry, I'm here to help you poor clueless guys (or girls) out.

Alright, lets start by breaking it down.
What on earth is Valentines Day and why are women so  obsessed concerned about it?

A day of love that fuels consumerism. Basically anything heart shaped would get snapped up like hotcakes.
So whats so important about Valentines Day and....how can you make sure that it is almost-perfect?

Valentine's Day is romantic.

Let's face it girls. We secretly like being romanced. It makes us feel important and wanted.  We enjoy the idea of being courted, the feeling of being swept off our feet. All thanks to the romantic films we force our poor boys to watch with us, we like to think that we are still being "chased". We hate to admit that the romance has grown stagnant and stale. We crave for some excitement once in awhile.

Valentines day has never really been about celebrating your love for each other.
Noticed how its always the MEN planning Valentines Day dates and NEVER the ladies?

Basically, it's just a day to show how much you care for your lady.

1) Pick a nice place for dinner

Your girl would have probably bought a new dress, painted her nails, curled her hair and did super nice makeup just to look good for that day (even though she denies putting in the extra effort. Trust me. SHE DID put in some extra effort to doll herself up)

And by a nice place, I do not mean an overpriced expensive restaurant in the heart of town.
Nobody is expecting you to pay 200 bucks for a meal.

Tip: It could be a quaint cafe that has really awesome reviews, or an alfresco restaurant with a nice view.

2) Be a gentleman

Be a gentleman even if it kills you to do so. We secretly miss those honeymoon months -even though you've been with the same person for the past 5 years. Valentines Day is an major excuse for us to feel like a princess and expect to be treated like one.

Offer to pick her up at wherever she is, kiss her on the forehead, tell her she looks pretty, let her take her time at the menu, pull out her chair for her. Little things like this can make a huge difference and trust me... girls remember every single detail.

Get her a bouquet of flowers.

Again, this relates back to point one: Valentine's Day is romantic.

Ever heard of this phase, the BIGGER the better? Yes, this is pretty much irrelevant while purchasing flowers (unless you plan to propose. In the case, yes the bigger the better)

Guys never understand that flowers are actually pretty heavy. We don't really want to carry that bouquet around for hours. Yeah I know you picked them up from the florist and passed them to her. You totally know how light they are right? NO YOU DON'T. You simply carried them for.. okay an hour or so. Trust me, especially if your girl is as puny as I am. Bouquets are mad heavy. Have you seen her arms? She obviously doesn't have biceps like you do. Get a bouquet which is relative to her size.

If you ask me what my favorite flowers are? They would definitely be daisies! White daisies please! *coughs profusely* Click here to preorder this bouquet -with complimentary delivery service. Do yourself a favor, click that link and look at the price + free delivery. The promotion ends on 8th Feb so hurry! Daisies are super feminine and sweet. This bouquet is complimented with pink eustomas (one of my favorite flowers due to its soft velvety petals!) *hint hint*

Here you go, the most crucial things to take note of on Valentines Day. Remember to make a rough plan of where to go, what to eat and what to do after dinner. Don't ever let her catch you dumbfounded on your agenda. Quoted from Mens Health Magazine... In short, if you are with someone this Valentine's Day, celebrate her, not the holiday. If you're single, call your mom. She'll think it's sweet.
