Things to do in Singapore.

This was my first project with The Smart Local. I was tasked with this video right after being discharged after a month long MC. Trust me, having such a big project while recuperating wasn't funny at all. Firstly, filming out in the sun is really physically demanding. Secondly, we were going to locations for hours at the time just to film roughly 5 seconds of footage each. Hence, you can only imagine how every second was extremely crucial.

To be honest, this project gave me alot of anxiety while editing. This is new to me because I am usually the slave driver towards myself when it comes to work. I had no idea how to piece 30 locations together without it looking too draggy or amateur. My brief was to be creative. To impress. And I don't know how to do that intentionally. I can't produce something which needs to impress. It has to do it on its own, in its own quiet way.

This video is nothing without Averlynn and Cheryl, the TSL interns who braved the heat and rain with me for every single of footage. You guys wouldn't see it from this 3 minute video, because it looks fun and exciting. It was, trust me. It was helluva fun filming the entire thing. Beyond all the fun in the sun, I want to extend my gratitude to my girls.

For standing in the rain with me in Lim Chu Kang, desperately calling for some mode of transport when it was getting dark. For almost suffering a heat stroke on some days while hiking for 4 hours just for a stop motion scene that lasted for 4 seconds on screen. For believing in my shots even when my brief wasn't very proper at some point of time. For dealing with my creative outbursts in abandoned buildings and for sitting by the sidewalk with me while we catch our breaths. Thank you.

I believe in tough people who can do difficult things. I believe in fighting for your passions. I believe that you can make a living doing what you love, and you shouldn't never stop pursuing your dreams. I believe in taking concrete steps to inspire yourself to do more for yourself, for the projects you are tasked with. I believe in giving that extra punch even when you aren't expected to.

Don't do it because you can. Do it because you can't stop.
